This version fixes some important issues for users such as:

• Fixed an issue where playing files from the CD drive or ejecting a CD caused a crash.
• Fixed the Kernel Panic crashes when hot-plugging the Rane SL 4 and improved hot plugging stability across all Rane devices.
• Scratch Live can now install on Windows 8 without the need to disable Windows security settings. (NB: Windows 8 is not currently officially supported by Serato).
• Fixed a bug where video files without audio were labelled as corrupt.
• Fixed an issue where you couldn't save cue points, loops or auto gain values to .mov or .flv files.
• Fixed an issue where you could get distortion when recording with the Rane Sixty-Two.
• Fixed an issue where no audio was being recorded in Mixtape when using the Rane Sixty-Eight.
• Fixed a bug with the Serato Video auto crossfader whereby it couldn't reach far left or right when set to a fast speed.

Alongside these changes to the software, there are also updated Rane Core Audio Drivers for use with other audio applications. These are no longer automatically installed when using the Scratch Live installer. Instead, they are now located in the Rane Device Drivers folder within the .dmg file. The Rane Core Audio drivers also have added support for OSX10.8 as well as some additional bug fixes.

Scratch Live 2.5 Bug Fixes

Alongside these key features Scratch Live 2.5 also includes bug fixes to continue the unparalleled level of stability and performance that Serato software is known for.

Some examples of the bug fixes are:

• Mixtape .als recordings now work with Ableton Live 9.
• Fixed a bug where the beatgrid lock wasn't being saved and loaded to/from the file; it was only being saved to the database.
• The Sixty-Eight record source is now correctly loaded from preferences.
• Fixed a bug where the CDJ-350 was sending both MIDI and HID messages which meant it could possibly fire two different Scratch Live events at the same time.
• Fixed a bug where the DJFX deck assignments wouldn't save to preferences if going from being 'on' initially, to 'off'.

Want the next song to cut in right at the drop? I had a bit of trouble in the beginning getting the mix anchors in place because the navigation controls just aren’t intuitive: Zooming in works by pressing the + and – buttons on your keyboard or your mouse wheel, but they jump in pretty large increments, so if you’re planning on honing in on a specific part of the audio to set some markers or anchors, you could find yourself getting lost because of the big changes in zoom levels. Just drag the anchor to that point. Just drag the anchor to the start of the drop’s measure and set it to “Beatmix Cut”, job done.I noticed two things that could be improved: First, its beat detection – out of the 10 tracks that I used in my mixtape, there were two tracks whose first beats weren’t properly identified, and I had to manually adjust the mix out points for seven tracks because MixMeister wrongly calculated the “last eight bars” of those tracks. Not a total dealbreaker, but you could be making mixes even faster if this was made more accurate.Second, its editing controls – they’re a bit clunky to use.
